So, let’s meet some of the team at Edcon Steel Revesby.

Adrian, Branch Manager

Adrian joined the Edcon Steel Revesby team back in 2019, bringing with him a wealth of management experience, professionalism, and good humour.

“I run the day-to-day operations of the Revesby store,” Adrian explains.

“From managing staff, stock and sales to helping customers and supporting wherever I can.

When asked what makes Edcon Steel different from other steel stores, Adrian credited the customer service and the huge range of products. From steel, metal, tools and gear to industrial products, Edcon’s got you covered.

“Our customers are hobbyists through to large-scale fabricators, so we look after a variety of markets,” he explains.

And because we have such great relationships with our suppliers, we are able to source a variety of materials for our customers, depending on what they need.

Prior to joining Edcon, Adrian spent 10 years at BOC Gases, so if you’re after advice on welding gases, he’s your man.

“We’re really treated like family here. If there are any issues, management is all over it.

They know that the people make the business.”

Mick, Sales and Customer Service

Michael is Revesby’s longest-serving employee.

“I’ve been working in steel since 1997,” Michael explains.

“There was an amalgamation of a couple of businesses to create the store that was here previously. Edcon eventually bought it out when it decided to shut up shop.

I helped get the new Edcon store up and running and was hands-on from day one.

Being such a long-term member of the Edcon family, Mick knows Edcon inside and out – and he’s a jack of all trades with six trades under his belt, including fitting and turning, welding, machining, instrument fitting and electronics.

“I’ve worked as the Assistant Manager, I’ve done counter sales, cleaning, cutting, paperwork, invoicing, filing… and more,” Mick explains.

So, if you need to know anything about Edcon products or services, it’s a safe bet Michael will know it.

“I live just a few streets away, so I’m a local,” Michael says.

“I’ve seen a lot of change over the years… and I’ve stayed with Edcon because it’s a place that I’m proud to be associated with.”

“There’s a good team at Edcon. And I also get a lot of enjoyment out of the customers that come into the store.

There are some that I’ve grown with over the past 23 years. Being able to help customers, seeing them satisfied and enjoying my service means they always come back… and that puts a smile on my face.”

Geoff, Sales and Customer Service

Geoff is another long-term team member, with more than 21 years at Edcon Steel Revesby under his belt.

“I started off on the floor but have been in the office for the last 8 or so years,” Geoff explains.

“So I spend a lot of my time talking to customers, sorting out quotes and keeping on top of all our orders.

Geoff’s down-to-earth and easygoing nature makes him an asset to our team.

“It’s just great to be able to work with friendly people…not just the team but the customers too.

“And I think what sets Edcon apart is that it’s a true family business, and they treat the team like family. We’re really looked after.”

Colin, Store Person

Having been with the Edcon Steel team for more than 18 years, Colin knows a thing or two about the business.

“From serving customers to loading and unloading trucks, I’m one of the guys on the floor making sure everything gets done,” Colin explains.

“If an order for custom cutting comes in, it will get passed on to me to cut it accurately and make sure it gets to the customer in a timely manner.”

Like the other team members, it is the family-like qualities of Edcon Steel that are the best part of the job for Colin.

“They just look after you,” Colin explains.

“And make sure we have the resources to get the jobs done right and done fast.”

Leo, Store Person and Truck Driver

With more than 8 years under his belt with the Edcon Steel team, Leo has an in-depth knowledge of Edcon’s product range and services.

“I’m here to help customers find what they need and answer their questions,” Leo explains.

“And I do a lot of the custom cutting jobs and stock processing, too.”

The team at Edcon Steel are strong supporters of upskilling and recently assisted Leo in gaining his truck licence, so now he’s helping with steel deliveries too!

“I really enjoy working at Edcon because the people are so lovely, including the customers and the team.”

Vincent, Store Person

One of the newer recruits to the Edcon Revesby team, Vincent has been with Edcon for just under a year and brings with him an excellent work ethic and willingness to learn.

“As a store person, I serve customers, do stock take, cut steel to size and do a lot of work orders,” Vincent explains.

When asked what he enjoys most about work at Edcon Steel, Vincent was quick to answer:

“I just really enjoy working with the people at Edcon. From my colleagues to the customers, they’re just great people.”
